CALGARY UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL: 

PROGRAMMING AND VISUAL STORYTELLING

This was the first year POST-COVID (EEK), & we decided to push the theme of BLOWING THE DUST off the
ol’ theatre popcorn. The campaign was built around a sense of refresh and revival, bold imagery that invited people to re-enter theatres, reconnect with community, and rediscover CUFF’s cult identity. What better way
to do that than PURE CUFF-ENERGY, WILD AT HEART FILM FAIRIES (they blow stuff up)?

I collaborated with the Calgary Underground Film Festival to design posters and promotional graphics that captured the spirit of the FEST/ I Worked closely with festival organizers to align campaign messaging with event themes, helping drive attendance & reinforce community identity across Calgary in a safe & inviting way!

Designed post-COVID festival assets for CUFF that blew a kiss to its underground identity + signalled a “refresh” to audiences re-engaging with in-person arts programming.

These designs amplified CUFF’s cult identity by leaning into its underground aesthetic, gave the festival a bold visual presence that were shared digitally/physically, and created recognizable touch-points around the city.
CUFF’s community recieved BIG ENERGY, CONNECTION and a LEVEL OF FREEDOM in exploring the Arts Safely again!
